About
Away back when...
I have indulged my affinity for the water through whitewater canoeing, scuba diving, sailing and kayaking. So you may see water in much of my art.
I first took art classes at the Art League in Alexandria. I followed that with workshops at Dillman's Art Workshops in Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin. There I had the privilege to work with Tom Lynch, Sterling Edwards, Tony Couch, Karen Knutson, Andy Evansen, and more recently, Joan Fullerton and Bob Burridge (among others). At the Art League my instructors have included Rachel Collins, Susan Abbott, Sue Herron, and Peter Ulrich.
Watercolor has always been a big challenge and very rewarding when I can get it right. I am working in acrylic, collage, monoprinting and gelprinting as well, trying to expand my skills.
I worked at The Potomac School for 25 years teaching high school math as well as coaching football, wrestling and lacrosse over 39 seasons.
